Sometimes the libretto and musical score seem to refer to such differentuniverses, that they become the central issue to solve the set design. If, on the one hand, the libretto calls for doors, windows, staircases andbalconies, so that the comic plot is developed with ease, the musical universepoints to a transcendence that rarely leads to the desire for a realisticrepresentation. We try to achieve this by drawing a functional space, creatinga textured treatment on the walls so that, depending on the light, reveals arough surface or an almost transparent watercolor.
